The light bulb began shining brightly when I come to the realisation what transforming knowledge through ICT actually is.
Here I was, thinking that by using and creating time lapse videos was transforming learning, however in fact, I was far from the truth … I was only amplifying learning. Yes, the ICT was transforming knowledge but it was not transforming the process students gained the knowledge. In fact, time lapse is making the process of plan growth more efficiently reviewed compared to drawing the tiny changes on separate pages and creating a flip book … these were the original time lapse recordings.
I now realise that using ICTs effectively to transform learning must transform the process of learning not the knowledge attained from learning. However, I do believe that students are more likely to acquire more in-depth knowledge through these transformed processes.
Hopefully this post lights your light bulb too.
